Next Meeting
The next meeting of the VGCA will be at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, 27 February at the NRA Headquarters Conference Room Bob Sears and Larry Hare will present a program on “The life ok
h & e w Burgess aid His Firearms.” If anybody has a Burgess piece, both Bob and Larry would like to have you bring it. Anybody else who wants to bring any other firearm for Show and Tell is welcome to bring it. A few members have the idea that items for Show and Tell should be brought only if they are related to the program. That has never been the case. Show and Tell in the eyes of many members is, has, and will be the best part of every meeting.

Prior to the start of the meeting, Phil Hill will hold a meeting with the Show Committee and volunteers in the small conference room Phil would like to get started at 6:30 p.m. and asks that those who are involved do their best to be there on time.

The results of the election for the three members of the Board of Directors will also be announced. Please remember that in order for your ballot to be counted, it had to be mailed in.

Last Meeting
Those of us who missed the last meeting missed a great program, which consisted of members bringing in their 1903 Springfield rifles. There were a great many interesting rifles, but many Members have told me that Sonny Laine’s sniper version of the 1903 was worth seeing.

March Show
If you would like to volunteer to help at our Gun Show on 22-23 March and you haven’t signed up yet, you are welcome to attend Phil’s meeting. If your schedule doesn’t permit you to get there on time, feel free to join the meeting when you get there, and if you cannot do that, see Phil after the regularly scheduled meeting.

Show Hall
Over the years we have often discussed an alternate location for our gun shows. Hugo’s has served us well, and we hope that it will continue to do so. However, it may be time to seriously consider another location. If any member knows of a place, please contact Addison or any member of the Executive Committee.

Programs
As you all know, the program and meeting every March and September are taken up by the gun show. In June the picnic is always the program and meeting. We need programs for April and May, and since the VGCA-NRA joint programs are not yet firm for 2003, we need somebody or somebodys to step forth and tell us about your collections or a part of your collections. In the absence of a Program Chairman, please call Addison and talk to him about it.

Secretary's Subtleties
I am sorry to have missed the last meeting, but I had the worst combination of cold and flu hit me the night before than had hit me in my previous 65 years. Nobody needed to catch what I had, so I chose to stay home and keep it to myself.

President’s Corner
We still need additional help for our Gun Show in March. Our shows are better run than ever because of the volunteers and also the paid Security. Having paid Security doesn’t cover it all. Safety and Security go hand-in-hand and we can use all the help we can get. There are numerous other jobs to, and you don’t have to spend the entire two days or just one of the days. A few hours will suffice. Addison
